Personal: Nexus 4. I like it a lot.

Work: BlackBerry Bold 9700. I only use it on business trips, which fortunately are rare this year. Its Email/Calendar implementation is slightly better than using Lotus Notes on the desktop, but that's really all its good for. Everything else felt dated when it was released, never mind now :/

Motorola Razer - not sure of the model but about 4 years old. Does everything I need.
I did have a Samsung Galaxy SII but broke the screen.

My current plan expires soon so I'll looking for a new phone.
I can choose a plan that lets me use my existing phone or get a plan that gives me a new Galaxy S4 for $20 a month more.
For that amount, it's not worth fixing the broken SII

I just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S4 a few months ago (coming from an HTC Evo 4G). I like it; fast, good battery life, very slim, large screen. Not much to complain about, except the lack of reliable Sprint LTE coverage in my part of LA.

Nokia 1200 with a prepaid card that I didn't even bother to recharge since months ago. I just like the number and don't want to lose it.

My sister and my parents call me on that from time to time.

The ISP gives me a landline for something like 1$ a month so if I need to call someone I have that. With the people I do business with, I use Skype.

I don't like to carry phones with me when I'm out, when I'm out it's with a purpose so to speak, I do what I have to do and get back to my home, they have.

So what can I say.. no need for supercomputer phone here. I do wish from time to time that I had a phone with camera with me, but doesn't entice me enough to buy one.

LG  Optimus V i.e. Virgin Mobile POS... but it runs Android and I pay $25 per month for "unlimited" data/texts and 300 minutes. I rarely use 100 minutes of talk time.

I think I had a phone just like that except it had a color screen. It was the cheapest phone I could get at the time.

I had the LG Spectrum on Verizon but was unhappy with LG being slow to update their devices with new software and it was starting to feel sluggish so my wife let me use her upgrade to get the DNA when it was free at Best Buy. Sadly I lost my unlimited data when that happened. Oh well.

I've got this

it's a Nokia 5110. Apparently it's not the latest technology available, somebody at work's been having quite a laugh at me when he saw me using it  ::). It's a phone. It hasn't got a cord. So?!
99% of the time I don't actually know where I left it and/or it isn't charged.
I have not much need to communicate, when I do it's via email or the home phone.i

I've had an Evo 4G for the last two or three years. It's survived a ton of abuse, including repeated disassembly to install an inducitve charger. This is really the best phone I've ever had.

It is a great phone. Mine lasted me two years. What did it in for me was the battery. The stock battery lasted about 15 months, until its charge wouldn't last out the day. So I bought a 3rd party extended battery which had more capacity than the stock one (allegedly). It would last several days, but after about 10 months it got to the same point as the stock battery, and died shortly thereafter. It was a great phone while it lasted though.

So I upgraded to the Samsung. It doesn't feel as durable, but it is still quite tough, and the bigger screen is very nice.

My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3. It is my first smartphone, which I have found out are very useful. My only issue is a relatively short battery life (when compared to my old phone.)

I am using a Galaxy Nexus. It is almost two generations old but is the last Nexus phone that allows to change batteries. I carry a charged spare battery in my wallet and don't need to worry about running out of fuel. It is rooted. I used to run cyanogen mod for years but am now using a stock Google ROM image, it is good enough for me, especially with the 3rd party home launcher. I develop android apps for fun (having an open source one on Google Play) and doing android related stuff at work but am using newer devices for that purpose.

They only thing stopping my employer from getting the Z10 is that it's not backwards compatible with our blackberry server and they're not willing to invest in the upgrade. That's probably accounting for a lot of lost hardware sales for Blackberry amongst their customers.

Software licenses can sit forever but inventory gets stale and has to move.

Yeah, my stock battery has about had it. I bought a cheap "3,000 mAh" battery, but I'm pretty sure they used old, used recycled cells because it's closer to 2,000mAh. Of course, my stock one is at <1,000 so I can't really complain for $15.

Wanted a Note 1.0 ever since it came out.  Finally no left over phone to take over from family members, and got a Note 3.0 at launch date.
I regret skipping too many generations on Note.  Every engineer should have one.  Q

Yeah that's one of the reasons I hate the blackberry that I have. Way to hard too type on. I'd gladly use my old pearl flip that I have stashed in a drawer if they'd let me.

I'm currently using a TCL Idol X (900mhz wcdma) on optus for one farm and a UMi X2 (wcdma 850mhz) on telstra for the other farm, I picked them up at the same time, I thought i'd give some cheap ass Chinese designed and made phones a try, they're not too bad tbh.

Google G1 with a big aftermarket battery for super plus good power.

Of course I don't actually use it as a phone ("yeah I'm way more important than everything else you are doing so I'll interrupt you with this ring ring f'ing ring", as opposed to email which I will deal to when I am good and ready to), but it works well for email alerts and SSH on the go if things go bad.

Of course that depends on my actually carrying it, which is the exception rather than the rule, which is that it can generally be found on my bed where I left it and might remember to look at it to see if anybody was foolhardy enough to leave me a voice message in the next couple of days.

Same here: Samsung Galaxy S2.

Generally happy with it, aside from crappy stock OS (flashed it already) and sometimes a SOD ('sleep of death' - apparently a known issue in those phones). Other thing that could be better is the camera, which was a total crap in original ROM, and got a bit better with CyanogenMod installed, but still an old Sony-Ericsson K750i was taking better pictures. Screen is kind of large for me, but that's because I have rather small palms.

In general I like it, but I think I'm gonna try HTC or LG when my current contract ends (if they have one with reasonably sized screen, that is).

Nokia 301. I got tired of my Android phone (Huawei U8850) rebooting a few times in a day. I also hate typing on tiny touch screens. My new Nokia corrupts USB transfer on Linux, but I've had no other problems, and for 55 € I'm very happy. The operating system has a very familiar feel to it.

And I think that Palm used to subcontract the Treo to HTC for most of their color screened phones before they dropped the keyboard.

LG makes a good screen. Well the hardware in general is not bad, it just seems that the OS was always an afterthought. They tried really hard to look like Samsung but not as snappy.

I did miss the overly saturated color in my old Verizon Galaxy S, but the LG was good and crisp. My new HTC phone seems to be a good balance. The screen feels closer to the glass like the Super AMOLED screens and the black level isn't too bad, but you just can't beat Super AMOLED for black levels.

Nokia 3310. Mil spec electronics still going strong after more than a decade of daily usage. The battery has been replaced multiple times, of course.

How many years has it been since you've had to charge it?

Did you mean change the battery? I found a working battery in a salvaged 3310 a few years ago, but the capacity in that one is definitely dropping off by now. It is an open question whether I can find a suitable replacement this time.

Nokia Lumia 1020  :P, because it's a Nokia ofcourse and because i am a camera phone freak ;)

How big are the JPGs at full resolution? Is 41MP really worth it?

If u take a picture with the NokiaProCam app it saves a 38MP original and a 5MP downsampled image which looks very nice.

38MP is 7-13MB
5MP is a lot smaller.

Only thing that sucks is the Panorama app, horrible results and fairly lowres

;D

Well, originally the standby time was way longer than a week on a new battery, but the current old one is down to about 2 or 3 days. However I tend to keep the charger plugged when I am at home, as an attempt at saving battery charging cycles. You inspired me to check my storages, and it seems I have picked up a few extra batteries somewhere along the way. One of them is now in the phone, so will be interesting to see how much life there is in it.

One of these days I should probably get around to actually hunting for proper, recently manufactured replacements instead of relying on random NOS leftovers. ;)

I have a Nokia 3510i. Got it second hand from a relative in 2004.

I seldom use it, so the battery typically lasts a few months, but if I leave it turned on, it lasts around a week.

Also got a Motorola D170 which I got off ebay last year as a curiosity, because our family used to have one years ago, and I always liked the industrial design of it :). I don't have a SIM card which works with it yet though. Need to get one.

Nexus 4, after i dropped my Galaxy Nexus.
Generally a really nice phone, except for one outragous design-flaw.
Whenever you set it down on any surface that's not perfectly level it will just slide off and drop on the floor, because the back is made of effing glass.
And don't tell me to use a case. It becomes even more stupid then because you can't even see the back anymore.
Yeah just needed to get that off my chest.

I have Samsung Moment from 3 1/2 years ago. I'm getting ready to upgrade now but I'm not sure what I want yet.

On a related topic, California is a terrible place to buy a phone. For some reason, the state deems it reasonable that consumers should pay tax on the full retail price of the phone if as if it were not on a contract. This means that if I pay buy a phone on a 2-yr contract for even $0.00, I will have to pay sales tax for the retail price, probably ~$700 or ~$800, which may come out to be about ~$50-$60 for a supposedly no cost transaction. That's NUTS. If I buy any other product at a store that's on sale, the non-sale price has no influence on the transaction.

Anyway, my dad lives in another state. I should be able to purchase phones online to his address and pay substantially less for taxes and the cost of shipping them to me.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. I like it because it has Android and therefore a lot of useful apps for me as a college student: I can check some exam scores, check the arrivals of the city buses, order food, check the daily menus of local restaurants etc.
It works well most of the time, maybe needs the occasional reset, but I can cope with that. I do, however, HATE the battery life. It barely lasts a whole day. God forbid I forget to plug it in when I go to bed.

HTC Desire.

Just got a new battery after the previous one was getting bad after 3 years. Thought about getting a new model, because this is one kinda slow and crammed in MB's, however.. the current interesting models are all 300 - 400+ euro's which is too expensive for a person who actually doesn't make that many phone calls.
Neither do I really use it daily at the moment. |O

iPhone 5. It's quite an enjoyable phone. And I have multiple customers paying to have apps developed for them that target iPhone/iPad. They don't mind if we also support Android/WP, as long as they cover iOS devices.

Go ahead haters, start hatin'

Though I am quite envious of the camera on those high-end Lumia WP phones. Wow.
