If they want to retain peoples' trust, they really do need to stop with the platitudes and actually explain what's going on. It's not normal for a company to go from shipping within 2 hours to a week+.

I mean, is it due to offshoring? (They just opened a big office in India, purpose not stated.) IT troubles? Export compliance? A fire in the warehouse? ICE raids? A strike? Racoon infestation? Alien invasion?

Day three of 'processing' for my latest order. DK is the one distributor that's never let me down, but the ever increasing time to ship orders does not inspire confidence.

Yeah, agreed.  Our orders are now persistently delayed.  It's gone from "I can place an order on Friday and it'll be on my desk on Monday" to "If I place this on Thursday, I might get it next Wednesday."  That's quite a change and means I can't iterate as rapidly on some product development work, if needed.

After reading a page and a half of text I haven't figured it out yet. Why is shipping so slow from DK?

Like, do all US companies order lots of stuff from the suppliers early in the year?

Are the AI companies buying from US suppliers and shipping the parts to the factories in China?

It seems that this has been happening for years, like since 2024.

Hm, I've had two orders in two weeks. 3 days from order submitted to pickup at local DHL pickup point. Normal.
Small orders (5 and 8 lines), but still.
This is Norway, which isn't exactly the center of the universe.

Did I hit the lottery - twice?

Placed an order on Tuesday night. It hadn't shipped by the weekend, so I emailed them to modify the order (add some items). They didn't let me because of the "processing" status ???. The order shipped on Monday night and I'll be getting it this Friday, ten days after the order.

I think I'll stick with Mouser until whatever this is gets resolved.

What's worse is not the delays, but the lack of honesty about it. Any company can have problems, but the mark of a good one is how they deal with them.

I placed an order on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. Each shipped the next day and both show as due to arrive on Monday. I've not had more than a day or two max delay yet.

In my opinion, the fact that it is not even a systematic backlog makes it worse. If Digikey were swamped by orders, I would expect them to systematically follow a "first come, first served" policy. (Unless specific items are out of stock or in a remote storage location, of course.) But those random "I got my order right away" reports make it look like Digikey have just completely lost control.

Anyone else noticing issues with DK's web site over the last couple of days?
Search filters not loading, pages not rendering properly?

I've tried from a couple of different systems, so I don't think it's on my end. (but could be)

The lack of filters is making it very difficult to use the site.

Never mind, cleared the cache and the issue went away.
Weird part was that I saw the issue on two different networks,  two different machines, and three different browsers.
Something from yesterday managed to corrupt all the caches.

Ordered on the 17th, got a shipping delay status on website after ordering (expected 3 day delay based on the banner.)  Still not shipped as of COB the 20th.  So there goes the weekend.  No exotic parts either.  Just adding to the data, I really like DK, I hope they can right the ship!

ETA: It shipped the Friday night I posted, so 3 day delay was accurate.

One odd thing I have noticed is that when I log in some pricing is shown as discounted, but the price used is the normal one (even when added to the cart).

This stopped working somewhere in the last month or so from memory. Up until then I did get the lower price, so I now need to ignore any discounted price when comparing to Mouser.

The order I did today charged the discounted prices correctly.

I did wonder if it's a browser (I use FF) / adblock issue. The other quirk is that it often jumps back to USD instead of AUD.

Just cleared everything and turned off adblock. The AUD seems to stick now, but stil no discount.

Given that both Digikey and Mouser have been so shit lately I decided to go full circle and try Element 14 for an order the other day. Ordered Friday afternoon, delivered this morning. None of the other companies have shipped any of my recent orders that quickly in ages. Element 14's website is so shit these days, but I guess that pain is worth it for delivery security

After chatting with Digikey yesterday (twice, the first guy said clear your cookies, etc), things have improved with the pricing. Not perfect, but a lot better than no discount.

I've long thought Octopart would do well if they had a way to put together a cart on their site and then place the order directly, get around some of the awful disti websites.  Right now they only get click-through commission, but a lot of the time I bet they don't win because I'll just send a list of parts or a saved DK cart to our purchasing department.

This discount issue you are seeing is pretty whacky.  Almost like it is displaying and applying different discount tiers.

If you want to PM me a few DK part numbers, I'd be interested in checking if I see the same issue.

Out of interest, have you tried logging in via a different web browser.  That would rule out any other cookie or caching issues.

Disabling every single FF extension is another good idea.
Especially any that mess with all webpages automatically, like dark mode extensions, etc..

I did try Edge instead of FF (as well as different computers), but the issue was exactly the same.

I tried looking up pricing on a couple of product codes that David_AVD sent me.  Both of us are using the Australian DK website and get discounted pricing based on our accounts.

My displayed pricing matches what he gets when adding to the cart, but he seems to be seeing a slightly higher discount tier on the product pages.

Definitely looks like a website bug, and specific to something on his account as it follows his account between browsers but I don't see it.
