| When is an differentialen ADC worth it? |
| (1/1) |
| implor:
What is your decision process? Assuming you have an single ended source and ADC is on same PCB. Say that requires resolution is 0.1% and Vref is 1.2V. Is it worth the extra cost? |
| SiliconWizard:
Agreed. Note that many high-res ADCs will have differential inputs anyway (usually starting with 16-bit, and even more common at 24-bit) to meet their rated specs. So you don't necessarily have a choice. You may of course still drive them single-ended, but with extra care and as blueskull said, never without proper additional filtering and a pretty limited bandwidth. |
