When you need a clean tip :)

That made me laugh and I just thought it deserves a share. The way this guy casually cleaned his soldering iron - priceless  :-DD

...

OK, the forum's YT plugin doesn't recognise timecodes, here's the proper link I hope: youtube.com/watch?v=7eQKi5bf9a8&t=328s

You mean you've never done that?

I always used my finger instead (I'm not saying it's a better solution, though)

Back in the day, we had a coffee machine, so could grab a cup at any time.

Sometimes it would take several to get me through the morning, & of course, it was standard practice to take them back to the bench & continue with what we were doing----"O H & S"? what's that! ;D

One day I was soldering away, & without looking, I poked the iron into what should have been the damp sponge, but the hiss & aroma seemed different, somehow.
I'm here to say that coffee doesn't do a good job of cleaning an iron tip!

Yeah, I've been to places where bringing your coffee to the lab was not allowed. :)

I'd like to say no .....  ;D  (but not for a long time now)

But, yeah, old denim jeans FTW.
