Either you KNOW that you had it through testing, or you did not have it. --- End quote --- That's not how it works. Either you know that you had it or you do not know if you had it or you have a false positive. Maybe just ask if anyone had been diagnosed with that crap if that's what you want to know? Besides, I think Dave said he is tired of those silly corona polls and will be deleting them. |

As Zeyneb suggested, I do not want to confuse the data. Either you KNOW that you had it through testing, or you did not have it. --- End quote --- I agree, anything else is just speculation, not even worth getting data on. --- End quote --- Stating "I have not had covid" would be speculation. In fact, I have had some sort of virus with the full gamut of symptoms and severity greater than anything I've previously experienced, but I can't say what it was because no testing was available. |

I just noticed that I spelled "forum" wrong and I fixed the spelling... I see there are many opinions about the validity of the poll. Since this is a technical forum, I would think that overall results will be different than the general populace because many of us technical people are not really "people" persons and don't tend to hang out in crowds. By simply taking the poll on a technical forum, I would expect the results to differ from worldwide, general population data. I could be wrong, but the data of this 10 day poll on an electronics forum should be interesting, no less. I am not trying to take away the devastation of this virus, or on the contrary add to the ethos. It just occurred to me that electronics/technical people are typically more secluded, because of introverted tendencies, than the general population. I have not had the virus, although my son (46 years old) and his fiance(42) have both had the virus, both confirmed with testing. My son's fiance works at a major hospital here in Houston and is a Respiratory Therapist. She works with Covid patients every day (for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during the peak). She gets tested weekly with the usual test and my son was tested after his illness that lasted 14 days, I believe by testing his antibodies. She was infected with the virus first and then him. Her 15 year old daughter did not get the virus and lives with her in the same house. My son is a technical person, but, he contracted the virus due to his relationship with his fiance,a medical professional that has a much higher risk of getting the virus. Both of them overcame the virus and are back to work. EDIT: My son works from home in a technical field. |

It is not, however, information. Ignore the poll; the data will be meaningless. Anybody that changes what they think or do on the basis of such digits deserves what they get. Ditto changing what other people do. |
