Why delete a nice post?
« on: November 20, 2020, 10:08:17 pm »
I posted some beautiful music, yesterday, and you deleted it... why? Funny - there's LOTS of non-technical posts here (people pick and choose what suits their perception - highly contradictory) but mine vanishes?

No need to be so autistic about "technical posts only" surely!

From the rules sticky in 'general':

The Rules
...
5) This is an electronics forum, so try to stay on-topic. We understand that threads drift off-topic, but try not to start deliberately and grossly off-topic stuff.
There are a couple of pet topics that always get out of control on forums, namely, religion, politics, gun and conspiracy theories. They are not welcome here.
Those who come here to mostly only contribute non-electronics related material are not welcome. There are forums for that stuff, this is not one of them.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

Moderation is hard. Well-defined rules make it easier. Mods won't always be 100% accurate regardless ... that's just the nature of it. Preferable to the descent into chaos which happens without moderation.

Don't take it personally. Adapt your approach to work within the system.

Why create a thread? Ask the moderator.

Because it's completely off topic and IIRC you do it frequently.
Please stop posting topics like this.
If I catch a completely off-topic thread early and few people have responded, then I usually just delete it. If it's had pages of responses already then it'll usually just get locked.

Hacker groups can ruin a site.
They post something, then argue with eachother about it.
The end is a bad atmosphere, no one like to join anymore.
Hackers dont know electronics so good so they need nonsense to post.
Need to be carefull, there are people out there that only like to destroy things.
The opposite of the creators here.

Your posts seem to follow a pattern of having little substance but intentionally fostering controversy. This thread would be another example, with calling people "autistic" to ensure you get a response. I can see how te moderation crew grows tired eventually.

eti, sorry you feel butt-hurt about this, but these are the rules. Like life, there is no black and white. EEVblog is an all inclusive forum and we let certain things slide (much more than most forums), but there has to be limits otherwise it just becomes chaos. I think we do a pretty good job considering the admin/mod to user ratio.

I wasn't always a moderator here and I've had stuff locked before. So be it. The same rules apply even now, but I don't let it get to me.
