How do you make the attached pictures appear full size in the text area like I see on many posts? :-[

You can make a account on one of the free image hosting services like Photobucket or Imageshack, after uploading a picture you will get some tags, one of them is for forums wit
Code: [Select]
[IMG]….test.jpg[/IMG] tags, you just copy paste that in to the forum.

A tip: don’t use high resolution pictures, those are annoying for most people, a good size is like 800x600 resolution or lower.

Good luck!   :)

Just copy the url of the uploaded image into the text in a second editing pass over the text.

Using external image hosts is usually not a good idea. See the adult image hosting advertising in this posting https://www.eevblog.com/forum/product-reviews-photos-and-discussion/my-brand-new-laboratory/msg55576/#msg55576 And that is still a harmless version. They could easily have replaced the images with ...

And other of these hosters tend to go away. And they have fucked-up, broken interfaces not working in all browsers.

I delete PMs unread. If you have something to say, say it in public.

Thanks BAW,

It took me a while to realize I had to get the URL for the uploaded pic from properties while NOT in the edit post mode. I was trying to use the URL of the image properties while in edit post mode and it gives the URL of the post not the picture.

www.imgur.com is a good place for hosting images. It will give you the tags for embedding in your post. No text ad underneath, not deleted as long as its viewed at least once every so often (3months?).

Images in posting should be embedded and attached to the forum it self.

Using external hosting will just spell trouble in the future, no matter how good it is "now".

Who hell knows if the hosting site will changed their policy tomorrow ?  >:(  A bad example here -> HERE  >:(

Made a thread while ago regarding attaching and embedding image in a post while ago here -> HERE

Robrenz, for thread with many pics like a tear down, suggesting to embed in expanded state one or two of them only in the posting to make thread more representative imho, and leave rest of them in thumbnail state, cause once the thread is gaining popularity, it will hammer Dave's server quite hard again and again even the viewer already viewed those pics, also it will save bandwidth too especially on crazily large pics that never get resized.  :-\

Edit :
Shameless examples  ;D few threads of mine with many pics HERE or HERE

Since you can zoom in/out on your browser using Ctrl-scroll wheel to get any size picture to fit on screen (IE9). What is the max horizontal picture resolution that fits on whatever is the default browser zoom level?
And how do you get back to the default browser setting once you have zoomed in/out with ctrl-scoll wheel (IE9)?

How long is a piece of string? Monitors are not all created equal.

Should be ctrl+0, but no guarantees when it comes to MS stuff.

Good point, I guess my question is, is there a generally acepted ideal resolution?

1280x960 is as large as you should generally go in-line.
