PA0PBZ:
I tried to find the source of that nonsense but I got a different response:

February 29th is a date that appears in the Gregorian calendar every four years, which is known as a leap year. The purpose of a leap year is to synchronize the calendar year with the astronomical year, or the time it takes for the Earth to orbit the sun, which is approximately 365.24 days. In order to keep the calendar aligned with the earth's orbit around the sun, an extra day, February 29th, is added to the calendar every four years. This is why February 29th only appears during a leap year.

The leap year rule was first proposed by Julius Caesar in 45 BCE, and it was implemented by the Roman Senate in order to keep the Roman calendar in sync with the seasons. The current leap year rule, known as the Gregorian calendar, was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 and is the most widely used civil calendar in the world today.

MK14:
A possible explanation (semi-wild speculation), is that it is because it is too convinced that February the 28th, is immediately followed by March the 1st and February 29th doesn't exist.

Another example, of it apparently messing up around leap-years:

--- Quote ---Feb 29th 2020 was what day

Thursday

Was it really?

Yes, February 29, 2020 was a Thursday. This date only occurs once every four years, on a leap year. Leap years are years that are divisible by 4, except for years that are both divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400. For example, 1900 was not a leap year, but 2000 was. Leap years help to keep the calendar aligned with the Earth's revolutions around the sun.

What day was Feb 28th 2020 was what day, and also March 1st 2020, was which day?

February 28, 2020 was a Friday, and March 1, 2020 was a Saturday.

Was the year 2020 a leap year?

Yes, the year 2020 was a leap year. Leap years are years that are divisible by 4, except for years that are both divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400. For example, 1900 was not a leap year, but 2000 was. Leap years help to keep the calendar aligned with the Earth's revolutions around the sun.

Well well...

Me: What day was Feb 28th 2020 was what day, and also March 1st 2020, was which day?

February 28, 2020 was a Friday. March 1, 2020 was a Saturday.

Me: and what day was Feb 29, 2020?

February 29, 2020 was a Saturday. February 29 is a date that appears on the calendar in leap years, which are years that are divisible by 4, except for years that are divisible by 100 but not by 400. For example, 2020 was a leap year because it is divisible by 4, but 1900 was not a leap year because it is divisible by 100 but not by 400. Leap years help to keep the calendar aligned with the Earth's orbit around the Sun.

Me: Your answers do not match, if Februari 29, 2020 was a Saturday how can March 1, 2020 also be a Saturday?

I apologize for the mistake. February 29, 2020 was indeed a Saturday, and March 1, 2020 was a Sunday. My previous responses were incorrect. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Me: What is your source for the wrong answer?

I apologize for the mistake. As an AI, I don't have the ability to access external sources of information or browse the web. I rely on the information that was programmed into me at the time of my creation. It appears that my previous response was incorrect due to an error in my programming. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Me: What day was March 1, 2020?

March 1, 2020 was a Sunday.

It's called Few-Shot Learning.  It's rather clever - you correct it and it records that.  I think this applies only for the current state; if you start a new chat session, you can get it to make the same mistake again.

PA0PBZ:
Yes, I know it does that, I was just wondering if we could see where the error occurred. I got it to give its source before but now it just blames the programmer  :-//
