Why does the spell checker flags so many technical terms

I've wondered why the spelling checker on a tech forum flags so many terms.   Two from my previous post.

Firefox/Grammarly doesn't seem to have an issue with it. Though I have lots of fun as I often make mistakes that I don't spot and even the apps for helping me can make it worse as they assume what I was trying to write. At least I have gotten past every spell checker trying to use -ize instead of -ise.

At work, I also get the fun of many of my customers having names that rely on misspellings for the names of the company so I often have to put up with many words underlined in red just because the owner was being clever with the name.

Huh? What spellchecker? The forum doesn’t have one. Your browser does.

My browser (in this case, in Safari on iPad, so using the iOS system spellchecker) doesn’t flag either of those words as incorrect.

As tooki said, the spell checker is part of your browser, not the web page.

I'm using Firefox. When it flags a word as misspelled that I know is spelled correctly, I right-click on the word and select "add to dictionary" and viola! the word is no longer flagged as misspelled. Sometimes I don't know for sure if the word is spelled correctly or not. In that case I highlight the word before right-clicking and choose "search the internet for [...]" Invariably, Duckduckgo will find the correct spelling. (I avoid all things Google whenever possible.). Then I fix it in my text, and/or add the word to Firefox's dictionary.

Thanks for pointing that out.  Totally missed it.  Shut that thing off and all good.
