I just got an email inviting me to an Avnet mini-workshop on a arm based robot kit and they stated free kits would be given out at the workshop.  Did any of you get this notice and are you planning on going?  I am in Seattle but I think they have quite a few cities and dates available.

edit: here is a link I found

They are giving away more of those EVALBOT's ? :)

I hope they got production ramped up or had some stock reserved for this, after the massive amount of orders they got a few months ago from the hackaday post :)

which seams are still not shipped out :)
Real Circuit design time in minutes= (2 + Nscopes) Testim + (40 +120 Kbrewski) Nfriends

Testim = estimated time in minutes Nscopes= number of oscilloscopes present Kbrewski = linear approx of the nonlinear beer effect Nfriends = number of circuit design friends present

I just signed up online for the Dallas TX one but I'm kind of worried about the "Avnet will give away a TI Stellaris® Robotic Evaluation Board (EKBUCOS3- EVM, a $149 value) to all qualified customers at each event." I've never bought anything from Avnet so do I not qualify? I couldn't find anymore details on this. If this is true I'll try and get a group of students to go.

I have not ordered from them. Does anybody know if they have a minimum. How are the shipping rates? They have some very good prices and I have been meaning to try.

TI Stellaris® Robotic Evaluation Board (EKBUCOS3- EVM, a $149 value)

heh, my one of them just arrived this morning. I ordered it like 6 months ago when they were on sale for $25 and every man and his dog was trying to order one.
Took them this long to fill the orders lol

Must say though, its a really good unit, really well put together and thought out.
The little gearboxes on the wheel motors is pure sex, lots of quality machined metal gears, none of the plastic crap you see so often.

... except the famous screw above OLED display shorting GND with some OLED signals (which finally is killing the OLED)
and the B1 silicon where C5 already available ... and of course no stock, for any kind/silicon revision

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter ...
I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me.

I ordered one with the conference promo code ages ago, and had been told my order was cancelled, but today I got an email saying it's been shipped, and it's actually on the way!! :D
