| why is the US not Metric |

At the end of the day there are a lot of reasons people can hate on America. And I suspect this is a part of the reason for the animosity towards America's continued use of the old imperial system. If this is the reasoning, a US change to metric is only a symbolic gesture. If this is a good enough reason, then America could change. Is it? Or would all of the America-haters complaining about imperial still hate America for the actual good reasons, of which there is no particular shortage? |

The US have done some pretty bad things over the course of its history, as have the Brits, the Portuguese, Spanish, Germans, French etc. |

This thread are prime example why standards cant be properly formulated and installed by multinational committees as everyone eventually will resort to pompousness and arrogance while feeling butthurt. :o |
