Hakko, Aoyue, Atten + others
« on: February 05, 2012, 07:04:51 pm »
All of these brands have models that resemble the Hakko 936 model.
There is also CSI, Quakko and other unbranded units that look alike.

You may have heard of one company producing 13 different brands of washing powder for various price sensitive market segments,
and so in manufacturing, its common to have assembly lines for branded and unbranded goods of the same physical item.

So in the case of the 936, how do these differently branded soldering irons measure up?
Anyone have pictures of the insides of the various units mentioned?

IIRC there have been pictures of the inside of this or similar soldering stations on this site. They were very different inside. The conclusion was there is not only rebranding, but also a lot of cloning going on here, and 936 like soldering stations are manufactured by different companies, instead of one company producing all those variants. However, several of the cloners do have variants of their clones, too.
