Wireless link for USB cable ?

Does any one know if there is out there any solution's of wireless link for a USB cable ? 
Lets suppose that we need a wireless link that it would replace 8 meters of cable.

I think you can get usb cables with repeaters in them to extend the range. Otherwise your looking at bluetooth or wifi

There is a good range of solutions for usb over ethernet.

So you could wifi one of them

Some of the usb over ethernet don't work with the plc's I use so it depends on what you are trying to run I guess

They make wireless USB adapters, but you'll need better antennas to get the range you need.

That plus a wireless point to point link could work. It however demands a PC running their special software, so you couldn't arbitrarily link one usb device to the physical usb port of the host.
