Digikey has dropped the free shipping threshold from AU $200 to $60 , and the shipping charge has dropped to $24 if the total purchase price is under $60.

As usual, Digikey continues to provide outstanding service. I ordered a swag of components Thursday at around 5pm. They were delivered to my office this morning (Monday). As usual, not one part missing or wrong. A bonus was I uploaded the BOM into Digikey from an Excel spreadsheet generated by Altium and Digikey marked the component designators on each pack to help the technician easily ID parts and start building some prototypes. How good is that!

It is rumoured Trump fulfilled his election promise immediately after the inauguration, "We will have Digikey to reduce the shipping costs of components to Australia... and get Mexico to pay for it."

Looks like for digikey orders to New Zealand the minimum has dropped from $125 to $66

The old system never made much sense to me, why was the free shipping thresholds AUS$200 and NZD$125 when the AUS dollar is worth a little more than NZD.
Not that i was complaining

Now that its AUS$60 and NZD$66 it makes much more sense.

Hopefully it is due to the $60 limit that Mouser has had for quite a while. I've certainly rubbed it in their face many times :-) .. I've had many cases where - for NO
reason they've ever explained properly, they suddenly decided to charge freight AFTER I finalized the order ... but that's another long story :-)
