It's 0500 here and I read the title as "Woo woo" for a moment. I thought "what kind of Engineering school is your son going to?" ;D
They chant and study the metaphysical properties of crystals... mostly.

While sitting on a giant neodymium magnet in front of a statue of their free energy prophet Nikola Tesla.

My daughter's career is a crafty ploy by SWMBO and myself to secure our looming decrepit future. As for my eldest, yes he is a geologist but his alternative was lawyer :scared: so I think that was a good choice there.

What's wrong with being a geologist?

What's wrong with being a geologist?

When they went to the moon, hundreds of thousands of engineers made it happen, every astronaut was an engineer, and they sent one token geologist  ;D

So, you think being a geologist is a poor choice because of limited job openings at NASA?

Oddly enough, engineers and geologists share the same professional association here in British Columbia. Both also receive rings as part of graduation, the only two professions to do so. The engineers use to be iron (now stainless steel) and the geologists is silver.

My son has been accepted into my old alma mater! Join me in congratulating him on a wise career choice!  :-+ Hopefully he won't be the party animal his dad was.  O0

He will be receiving an EEVBlog uRuler as a graduation present.

Congrats to him and both you and your SO.  Best of luck to him.
I can still recall the time when I got the Letter.

Can I ask what school he's going to?
STAND BACK!  I'm going to try SCIENCE!

Geologists know where to find oil and precious stones. Engineers don't.

Can I ask what school he's going to?

Look at the date. I think he's not only graduated (six years later, i.e. now), but is also already employed.

University of Victoria

He even had some of the same profs as I did!   :o

Yep... a long road for sure but its a co-op school so they go to work every 4 months for 4 months. He also took some extra "interest" courses, mostly power electronics I think. He is now a test engineer at a company that makes electric vehicle chargers.
