The officer ordered the naked man to back away, and when he continued the assault, the officer shot him. The attacker continued to eat the man, despite being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

BTW, thorazine and lithium are pretty much obsolete now.

Out of patent, available as a cheap generic, so very much a part of state hospitals here. Of course you could find they had run out, or the stock was " missing" and then you would get the next thing on the shelf, generic paracetamol that may or may not be counterfeit.

I'd bet he was on "Bath Salts."  Here's two newsworthy incidents that occurred in my hometown... 

In Panama City, Fla., two incidents alerted authorities to the drug's serious effects. In one case, several officers were needed to subdue a man who tore a radar unit out of a police car with his teeth.

Two cases on Martin Luther King Jr. Day shocked authorities in the Panama City area. A woman, apparently high on bath salts, burst into her 71-year-old mother's room swinging a machete, according to Panama City Beach police.

Pamela Higgins, 48, reportedly asked her mom, "You ain't dead yet?"

No one was hurt, but Higgins was arrested by Panama City Beach police on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
