Then we are left with what appear to be three possibilities:
1) It doesn't actually work (or it doesn't work like that)
2) Large numbers of Ebay sellers don't know about it.
3) It has some other side-effect that makes it undesirable.
I guess 2nd. It works perfectly for me. I noticed it myself only a few months ago while it seem to be there for more than a year. No side effects so far noticed. You still get charged usual fees for particular listing every month, even if it is not active. But if you skyrocket the price instead, it is completely the same, except some nutter still can buy it
, happened with me. Then you have two choices: unpaid case and the nutter get a strike, or you try to cancel the listing and if he refuses, you are fucked up for about 9% of the item value ($180 if it costs $2000).
Edit: if while cancelling you choose the reason because of your fault, not buyer mistake, I think you'll receive the final value fee back, but then you will also get a transaction defect on your account. And if there are too many, you're fucked too.
