Can anybody make sense of the pricing craziness for these Fluke 87V variations?

I don't understand this one. A bare 87 costs $513. A kit with the 87 and carry case and accessory kit costs less than the meter alone at $465. And it looks like the 87 with calibration certificate costs $476. Weird pricing.

Sometimes its a question of stock: kits may move slower, and could have been in inventory for longer than stand alone meters.  Given the CD$ ~ US$ having a premium over US prices is even more questionable, presuming those prices don't include taxes.

Yes, as usual the Canadian prices are way out of line compared to the US. Even more so when the Canadian dollar is higher than the US dollar. I will not be buying from Newark, but was looking around for one.

At $345 w/free shipping from the Canadian Amazon site, I think it's going to be hard to find one cheaper elsewhere in Canada. Of course.... Amazon is currently out of stock, though in the past I've found they are pretty quick to stock up again. Had this deal been available when I got my 2 87V's off Ebay, I would have bought these instead. I paid a bit less than $300 for each of them, but both were new old stock....
