I'm not familiar with China at all, but since most of the Japanese culture comes from mainland China I would think it's at least similar at least on the old traditions.

Most Japanese will not appreciate this comparison ;-)

What I was told is that after 10 years or so, it will be too expensive to keep a car because of higher taxes for older vehicles and higher insurance rates.

As for nightlife I do understand that in the little fishermen towns accessible only by a road that can only hold one car and you have to pull out of the road to let incoming traffic though (if they are climbing they have the right of way) then yeah, there are only a couple of bars, on cities they had more but after midnight not many people around. But taxes are so high that people buy their own bottle and keep it labeled with their names.

I did pick up the bill a couple of times and it was around $500 for just 5 people and it's not like we drank that much and only had some appetizers brought up.

Also I did find it refreshing that a business card opens more doors than anything else.

I got one for you guys...

http://www.sigelei.com/goods.php?id=230

This device is a variable voltage regulator of sorts...  they're referred to as a "kick" in the electronic cigarette market.

Quote
Working Parameter:

1.1 Matching with atomizer in a resistance of 1.5?-3.0?.

1.2 Variable power from 5W-10W in 1W increment or decrement.

Function

2.1 POR: After power on resort, the KICK will get into the alert status if an atomizer is not installed.

Instruction:

Adjust the power by rotating the VR swither: the left-most is 5W, and the right-most is 15W.

(The  kick has low impedance protection: when the resistance is below 1.0?, it will not work. Short circuit protection. )

So what is it?  5-10W or 5-15W?  If it also says 1.5 minimum, why does it mention anything about subohming?  No clue what "power on resort" is supposed to mean either.  I just dunno.
Maintain your old electronics!  If you don't preserve it, it could be lost forever!

Here the government placed a ban on all imported "Imported cars" from being driven on the roads, after a few rather serious accidents where the vehicles were involved in collisions and were not registered, and the driver simply abandoned it and the costs of the other parties, and the importers claimed that they were not responsible. Having seen some being towed, with no wheels, on the road, and driving with broken drive shafts running on the road, having them only able to move on a car carrier or with 6 inside a TEU container is good.

There was a very impressive fire when a warehouse with around 1200 used vehicles burnt down a while ago.
