As the title says, at what speed do you use to watch (artistic) movies, mostly, please?

There is also a poll for YouTube videos playback: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/playback-speed-for-youtube-videos/

I don't see why anyone would watch anything speeded up, unless it's something like a poorly produced YouTube video, with a presenter who waffles.

Same with slowed down, unless it's for small sections or action scenes which make it easy to miss something.

Depends on which player I am using, VLC almost invariably at 1.33 times, which does not make audio sound too bad. With Totem real time, simply as I am using an older version and upgrading is planned for later, and on my audio player 1.25 times, so that I can have better concentration. the Youtube web player almost invariably 1.5 times or 2 times, as that does help with much of the material.

Players like VLC, or even youtube, can speed up a video without altering the height of the audio. Keeping the same audio spectrum while talking faster have the strange effect that after a few seconds, the high speed feels like normal. Just try it to see for yourself.

It's funny how after playing a minute or so at x1.25 or x1.5, when reverting the speed back to the normal x1, the video and the voices seems to be in slow motion, like the "bullet time" from some video games.  :-DD

Really depends how interesting and well edited the video is.

Many videos commit the mistake of lengthy, fancy introductions, with lots of visual effect. I breeze those at 2X.

As other have mentioned, I usually play them at 1.25X, unless it is a very well produced video, which I would like to fully enjoy at its normal speed.

Everything at 1.0 speed apart from Mike's Electric Stuff and The Signal Path. Both of those guys speak WAY too quickly so I download the video and play it at 0.9 of normal.
