When you have a snarky remark referencing a Dave-ism as your signature.
Whoa! How the hell did Dave know that Bob is my uncle? Amazing!

When you more duplicates of all your test gear than hands to operate them.  To go along with that, when you turn everything on in your lab and the lights in the rest of the house dim.

Does that seriously happen for you?

No, but if I turn on the test gear and fire up all my light fixtures and have my computers running in the home office/ workbench, the 2 APC SmartUPS 1550 UPSs that everything is plugged into start getting a little wonky.  Maybe I should get replacement batteries for the 3rd back up unit I have and spread the load out some more  ;D

My Power Designs TP343A can singlehandedly dim the lights in the room with its inrush current. Not the whole house, but still, anyone present knows when I turn that beast on. It also sings a very satisfying 60 Hz song at the same time, and continues to hum softly the whole time it's running.

I'm sure you could "fly to the moon" on its quiescent current, but you could also fly to the moon inside it as your spaceship, which I why I like it so much.

You debate which meter you want to use to check a single AA cell as to whether it is dead flat or still has some charge in it, and are stuck between 5 meters in the final selection.

Or just bounce it on the table and say "good enough for A'straya" :-+

When during a video call some friends ask you what are all those background lights and if you are in a submarine ship.

Not good enough distinction on the bounce test, you never know if it is the surface or the cell making the bounce with enough reliability to check. Motor caps do bounce nicely when they have started to build up internal pressure but before they blow off the end and ooze out some grey goop and a lot of very sticky palm kernel oil. Had one do that on Thursday, and had to go out and up a ladder to the unit to change it (again). They just do not last these days.

Somehow your multimeter count exceeds the number test leads you have.
