Hi all

Safety video from UK and fire preventions, different outcomes of Li-PO Fires, i didn't know that 50% charged battery is just as bad , with LiFePO4  should be mandatary if EV floats yua boat, There is  are very short clip of EV car detonation , in the footage some interesting thoughts

I didn't watch the entire thing but at what point did he say 50% state of charge is just as bad as 100%? 100% charged will have more energy to release, more likely to enter thermal runaway, and more likely to result in a hotter more violent explosion. Of course 50% charged cell can still blow but, AFAIK many of the burn events occur at near full charge state (outside of physical damage).

50% charge it doesn't not go up in flames it just releases explosive gas's.
1. the fireman thrown 20m,
2. at the end he also mentioned how an explosion occured that took out a partion wall between two flats in brisbane, that wasn't in the local news.
