Just noticed on a label from a Farnell package - they make Zener diodes in Australia - who knew...

A normal zener zeners in reverse and is a diode in forwar. Ff it comes from down under does that mean it zeners in forward and is a diode in reverse ? Oh, and watch the counterspin on those electrons in the depletion zone ...

Yes, it works in Zener mode forward and normal mode backward. Even better, they paint the stripe on the other side, so you end up connecting it the wrong way around. ;)

I had some issues on my Zener diode voltage reference. For some reason the thermal coefficient seems to be inverted.
