Hi
On January 21, the Raspberry Pi Foundation released the latest microcontroller development board: RaspBerry Pi Pico. Compared with other Raspberry Pi, Raspberry Pi Pico is smaller but more powerful.
More importantly, RaspBerry Pi Pico uses the first self-developed chip RP2040.
In order to encourage more people build their projects, we are holding raspberry pi pico contest (https://www.pcbway.com/activity/raspberry-pi-pico.html). But so many people said they can't purchase pico in their local store,so here I will send 5 pico to eevblog members, the freight included.

I have project, but I only use rp2040 IC, not the whole rpi board. One may ask where I'm going to get bare rp2040. Well, I plan to desolder it from the rpi board. So, does this count as an rpi project? :).

Oh, I already was able to acquire one to work with. It would be best to send them to others, who may have a more difficult time to acquire one, due to location or cost.

Well I don't have any project (to be sincere I didn't even used a raspberry pi in my life), but I would say good luck to the ones who are going to participate.

My current goal is to create a simple tool to track and profile sources of electrical noise. Mostly for my own use to cleanup various sources of interference. Otherwise a a few solar powered remote sensors and data logging, see how much battery life I can get if I push the power saving features of the RP2040.
Past project I've worked with was remote wireless multi-point monitoring of vacuum lines in a Maple Syrup forest.
I'm looking forward to the Arduino RP2040 Connect version when it's available.

It is an interesting project,is it possible share in our contest? So many people are exploring rp2040,they can learn so much from your project

The RP2040 is new, I have yet to develop any specific projects for it, everything I've worked with has been for older systems. Though in many ways the features of the RP2040 would make redevelopment of such a project in a fraction of the time.. I really like the dedicated IO features that handle data collection independent of the main CPU cores.

Frankly, I don't need rpi pico at the moment, I have two already (but I might need more if I burn one of them). My only concern is availability (probably you know that now it's hard to buy some ICs on the market, esp. microcontrollers). But it seems it is generally available. So I'll be fine without stockpiling it :).

I am writing my own monocolor P10 led matrix driver with STM32.
I am able drive 2x5 panels cascaded right now.
I was thinking about using Pi Pico PIO and DMA feautures instead of using stm32.
Also i have plans about trying bitluni's hdmi example:

Hi, I was planning to get one to make a GPIB-to-USB adaptor. I have two instruments (Solartron 7150+ and HP5334B) with this interface and I presume other folks are in a similar situation. The RPI pico sounds ideal to solve that interface problem

Cancel that, Pimoroni.com in the UK is having a Bank Holiday Special on Raspberry Pi Pico (half-price), limited to 1 per customer. I just ordered one, which means you can use your free ones for someone needing it more

My son's and I are trying to do various projects using an arduino. I am finding the programming very hard going and am wondering about trying a raspberry Pi for some of our projects.
A free one would be even better ;D

I am currently trying to develop a cheap device able to detect, measure and modulate eletromagnetic noise. I believe the RP2040 will fit flawless in the project.
