« on: March 05, 2023, 05:17:13 pm »
Hi,

I'll be going to embedded world ( https://www.embedded-world.de/en ), first time, looking forward to it. Anyone else?

Thanks,

David

I'm considering it. But it involves getting out of bed early and leaving a mile-long to-do list behind. So, I'm a bit torn ;-)

I went and it was quite nice. You could even score two Raspberry Pi Picos if you went to the right booths  :)

What would you say were some key points this year (apart from scoring RPi Picos ;D )?

huge costs, travel to Nuremberg in 2023 or Shanghai 2024?

Ask for previous stats, booths, attendees.

Trade shows are less and less feasibl as atendee or ex
exhibitors

I attended the event as an exhibitor - first time for me on such a large event. But I managed a few hours of exploration:
I loved all of the transparent displays and miniature displays - there was a really tiny one with a 1280x720 resolution for HUDs.
I was also surprised by crazy amount of platform modules available - I lost count of all of the Linux modules on a PCB that can fit into a DIMM module or should be soldered on to something or... and of course, everyone says that their platform is the best there ever will be and can be.
Some really cool low power stuff was there as well.
ST gave out devkits if you looked interested enough - pretty sure they are trying to appease the general public.
And I saw the scopes that I want for Christmas :)

For me, mostly the networking as I had seen a lot of the exhibitors at electronica before.

Always helps if you are only a couple of hours away  ;)

I loved all of the transparent displays and miniature displays
They were my favorites as well.
