Wish I had a bit more notice.  I'd have load the car with crap valuable electric stuff.

Radio rallies seemed to have faded out in Essex /Suffolk area:-//

Bill

They are fading everywhere, like the denizens who frequent them. Fleabay doesn't help, eitther.

It seems certain that one of my favourites, Harwell/Didcot won't be resurrected :(

Not always the soonest to have the information, but it is a useful single point of contact: https://rsgb.org/main/news/rallies/
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Not so much fading as long gone.
At least in the South, IMO DDRC has been the only one remotely worth going to for the last decade or so.
Lots of other factors - new electronics & testgear getting so much cheaper, decline of ham radio, less UK manufacturing (company clear-outs/surplus stock etc.)

I remember the days of coming home from DDRC with a car pretty much full of really good stuff, now it's the other way round - I take a car-full & (hopefully) come back empty!

Seemed pretty good today, with better quality goods than in some previous years (at least for my interests, mostly test equipment and random explorations). The guy who sells batteries said he'd had a better day at Newbury last week. McMichael at Reading is in a couple of weeks and I've enjoyed that in the past - but it does seem to be  the smaller ones that are shrinking faster. Cambridge is nothing like it once was.

Not bad, but went home with more than I'd hoped - literally couldn't give some stuff away!

Ah damn, didn't realise it had shifted dates, would have popped along today otherwise, I now even have direct train service from South London :(

Maybe could have helped Mike get rid of some stuff, though I really should get my shed/workshop built first.

I was disappointed today: little interesting stuff to buy, and too many punters looked at the crap on the floor rather than the treasures in the table.

I don't know whether that was because it was a month later this year.

As for other hamfests, I prefer FRARS, Newbury, Rugby, and a couple of small local rallies.

In my view, obviously influenced by what I was looking for, mainly repairable TE, rather a disappointment and nowhere near as good as last year, which was excellent. Newbury last week was much better.

It may have been influenced by changing the date from late May to late June.

You did well with that tray of components, and another denizen scored https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/test-equipment-anonymous-(tea)-group-therapy-thread/msg5559025/#msg5559025

I "scored" at TNMoC, having a great chat about N-path filters and how 2/3 input and/or/not/nand/nor/... gates can be implemented with only two transistors. I'm tempted to spice simulate that circuit.
