I'm giving away a Keysight 1000 X-series oscilloscope, as found in my dumpster.

Make ONE POST in this thread with anything you want for the random draw.
Put a reason you want the scope and I might be able to find another one for someone in need.
You can enter from any country, but you may be responsible for any local import duties or taxes etc in your country.

The usual forum giveaway rules apply
- Being stupid and posting twice will get you deleted. This is NOT a thread for discussion.
- You must have a decent number of useful posts on the forum (in Dave's view)
- End date is whenever I feel like it.
- Dave makes the rules and can break them
- Draw is done by the Wobulator program that picks a post at random from this thread.

I have a young colleague at work, just out of college, who is getting into electronics and has an unhealthy attraction to high voltage. More old CRTs and disassembled microwave ovens than test equipment or sense!

I seriously need to upgrade from my fathers Beckman Industries 20Mhz Analogue Scope.
I no longer have the ability to switch from AC to DC Coupling because I blew up the Input Switches.
(Never Switch the coupling switches whilst connected to a high voltage).
So I could really do with a new one.

Not sure you'll find a "decent number of useful posts" from me though, but I'm up to 850 posts now and I know you're too lazy to through them all

Still in the learning phase of doing electronics, as it's only a hobby for me as a biochemistry student. It has certainly helped me understand a lot of the lab gear we use, and I do have plans to use electronics knowledge more actively in research and experiments in my field later on. It's an educational series of scopes after all?

I'm student in Lithuania trying to get better at EE, I'm self taught (mainly from youtube and books, love fundamentals friday

) and trying to get into proper EE university. I found some scopes on EEVBLOG irc channel that is willing to almost donate two 30yr old analog scopes. So digital one would by nice too.

I quit my career to take care of my mom full time. Im trying to put together an electronics repair lab so i can help support her and pay medical bills. I saved up and purchased an old scope on ebay but it turned out to not really work very well. I have no idea when i will be able to afford another one. An oscilloscope would be very helpful!

As for my needs. I have a slowly dying Tek 465 that many times is not enough. Apart from the dso stuff I could make good use of the signal generation, since I still lack those parts as well. With the small desk lab space this would fit perfectly!

I really want to upgrade from the 1054Z. Very limited for what i have to do (need canbus at home now too.. plus other.)
Infact, i was considering one ot the new 2 chan scopes but besides this and a pico i wouldn't have chosen anything else, really.
(why are these the only two that can use the EXT signal for serial decoding? that i don't understand)

If/When i'll get one the 1054 will go to a friend in more need
If in the meantime i'll find a good deal on ebay (because i can't get on with the scopemonth) i'll post again here to whidraw my chance

Easy, I want the scope because:

I followed the EEVblog mantra of "Don't turn it on, Take it apart!" when I found out my Rigol 1054z had a completely new, unseen board revision.
Only to find that board revision just involved removing all the traces and pads of the logic analyzer.
And now, less than 1 year later, my CH1 input section is gone (CH1 relay gone bad), but I have no warranty.

Plus, I'd love to see the learning signals.

Power On Self Test.
I really need a new scope. My old Tectronix 2225 is really holding me back in this digital age. Currently working on a new ASI-bus sensor, and I fear the potential problems with the serial bus timings.

Hi Dave!

I wanna apply for the giveaway.

Reasons: Do i need one to get a free scope? I don't personally own one, and at work I have a cheap Hantek one.

I've already taught my dog how to use a multimeter

(not really, he just posed for the picture

). It would be a hole new challenge to teach him how to use an oscilloscope!

Owning fancy oscilloscope like this one would be awesome, I always wanted one, but I'm on a very low budget therefore always imagined myself buying an old Analogue one which is also not happening as I didn't find one that I can afford. I finished my diploma in Electronic Engineering a year ago and still looking for work. I don't think I will ever buy an oscilloscope if I remain unemployed. therefore I wish I will win this scope or at lease any other cheaper one!
