You'd have to really go looking for somewhere to get snow in the winter. If you ever encounter snow in Sydney, you'll have a lot of bewildered people. It has happened (apparently), but you'd be lucky to make a snowball more than once in 100 years.
Rain is a funny subject in Australia. Generally it's not a problem for metropolitan areas, but nature can always drop in a surprise. It's a different story for the farmers, though.
Moving to Germany is perhaps an alternative.
To be honest: There are downsides.
The language?
