Everyone.... I am at a trade show all day today so will not be able to post til tomorrow. Just wanted to take a second to thank all of the EEVBlog for the support!

Keysight has decided to give me a scope! 6000x - LOADED! Its a win and the support here has a LOT to do with it.

Wish a had more time, but gotta run til tomorrow.

Do please give us all an insight into how you actually use it, once you've had a chance to unbox it and have a play. I'm genuinely interested to see what kinds of signals you're probing, what techniques you use to get an accurate measurement, and what results you get from the 6000X.

Well done Carlos. I find the popularity contest facebook method of voting, especially on something like this, quite distasteful. But you clearly put a lot of effort into it and have a genuine use case.

Now hopefully (as you lost), Keysight just sell that spare junk 6000X "display model" to your business at a notional disposal cost, because "YOU DIDN'T WIN! NILU DID!"

Therefore it is NOT a prize!

Now, that's interesting. Technically, it's not a prize, because he didn't win it. It is indeed more a gift, given to him by Keysight at good will. How about taxes on gifts, are there any in the US? I've tried to do a google search on it and that seems to be the case. BUT:

Play nice, now. Even though the bulk of the ineligible voter profiles was for one entrant in particular, there was actually nothing in the T&Cs about voting services. An oversight on our part, of course. Even though we got a lot of flack for using Facebook, I'm glad we did. We were able to check a lot of profiles and see that there were actually a lot of valid votes and profiles. Or, at least, it was disguised well enough to fool us. Looking at the votes, it was very clear which profiles were valid and which weren't.

Interestingly enough, the top 3 all had a non-zero number of votes from these profiles.

We learned a lot by running this contest, and we really appreciate all of your feedback and support. If you hadn't rallied around Carlos (rx8pilot), we wouldn't have given him a scope.
