I am stuck in the machine shop all this week and through the weekend dealing with mechanical parts of all things. A brand new Keysight 6Ghz scope shows up and I am spending all my time in the machine shop? Ahhhhh, I have an idea....take the scope to the shop. Field trip.
Buckled up the new toy, and off to the shop we go. These units have a dual channel ARB and training signals to explore the capabilities of the scope. I also have some cameras there and thought it would be appropriate that the first signal this scope sees is from one of the cameras we used on Star Wars Episode III back in 2004 - Sony HDC-F950. It provided a reasonably brisk signal as HD-SDI at 1.485Gbps.
Here is the first signal. We mainly use 3Gbps HD-SDI these days and going even faster in the near future. This camera outputs Dual Link which is 2 separate serial streams that are combined although I only connected one stream just to fiddle around with the triggers and measurements. Only had about 30min to play today.
