Hello all. I sent in a submission for the Keysight Test To Impress giveaway and I am hoping to get your votes.

The tells most of the story, but it could only be about 2 minutes. I have a small business that has transitioned from mechanical design and manufacturing to an electronics design and manufacturing company. This switch has bee absolutely amazing, but also a financial struggle like I have never experienced before. I have been able to get some high-end products on the market but the real target of high-speed DSP design is a long reach - mainly because the test equipment I need is so remarkably expensive.

With the help of eBay and a few thousand hours of hard labor, I have managed to put together a tiny but fully functional EE lab and manufacturing facility. By facility, I mean my garage. I am very proud that I have managed to self-educate and build something that I can call a real career. Lots of blood-sweat -and tears but my dream is to do what I love.

For the Keysight scope - I wanted to make sure that I could cover all the taxes and actually have a long term use of the scope. It will literally change my life if I win this contest. It will give me an opportunity to leap forward in my designs and skills. This scope will be used and it will be used to it's fullest potential (after a steep learning curve).
I was a hobbyist, but now this is real life. My test gear is my career and my career is food on the table. I have a foundation built on pure dedication and perseverance - this scope will help my build on that.

I did intend to submit an entry myself - not that I'd win, just to make the rest of you look better and to get into the spirit of scope month. A snowboarding holiday got in the way though. :-)

Nuts, the Facebook thing could be a problem on this one. They needed some way to authenticate, but FB is eliminating some genuine opportunity.

Yep I'm also a sucker for a deserving cause but like all the others I wont be signing up to anything else social media wise, you would get my vote without any hesitation and all we need to do now is get Daniel from Keysight to read this thread, perhaps some unscrupulous enticements might be worth a go.

I fiddled with the page a few minutes. It is kind of an odd layout and I nearly voted for the wrong person. It states that you can vote 3 times per day, but it does not offer any confirmation or errors. I 'voted' 6 times rapidly and it never threw an error about over voting and the vote counter never changes from 0 (for all entries).

I am hoping Daniel will join in and let us know if it is actually working.

Can Daniel please convince management to use a different method of account tracking? I understand the need to raise the difficulty of generating fake votes, but this is very inconvenient for most people.

As a FB side note:
I never used it for personal connections. To be honest, I don't want to spend a ton of time talking to high school friends that I have not seen in 30 years. It is great, however, for a lot of private professional groups in my industry to communicate and share ideas and issues. That feature has be very useful for me, but only because the people I want to talk to have already chosen to communicate that way. It is not good for everyone - and it can easily be a temporal black hole if you are the type to get easily distracted.

Really hoping there is a better option so that my video can get the votes it will need. Email? What could I suggest as an alternative that will prevent fraud, but also be easy and ubiquitous?

Ignoring the FB nonsense for a moment, I *think* I've watched all the videos (difficult to say for sure, it was on an iPad and the random order kept refreshing), and I now wish I'd entered myself!

For sure Carlos is up there IMHO: I couldn't see much justification, other than one about debugging USB, in any of the other videos for why they'd need a $30k + probes + options scope other than as a trophy piece... or to resell :-(

Of the limited specific examples given of how it might be used, a $400 Rigol DS1054Z would do the job.
