PCB design contest, any theme, $1k first prize
« on: June 28, 2018, 04:59:36 am »
Just found this contest:

https://www.pcbway.com/project/PCB_DESIGN_CONTEST.aspx

Judge looks professional, good prices. The "how to start" page explains what it means to "add keywords" and describes the whole process:

Looks like PCBWay allows to share projects so that others can buy it, like OSHPark does and others do, and it influences the chance to win if other people buy your board.

I'm not affiliated with PCBWay, but I've used the service in the past, including their assembly service, and they are not the cheapest, but quality was always very good. They even have advanced capabilities like via-in-pad. I know only PCBCart who has better capabilities, like 0.1 mm min hole size compared to 0.2 mm, which of course costs a lot, if you need this option.

We have been using PCBWay for a while. The quality can sometimes be a bit hit and miss for the more demanding boards, but for the more standard stuff they do a great job for a great price, love the stencil service too.

This share projects is a neat thing. I would like me some of those:

$5 for 10 of those is a nice gadget to tack on my next PCBWay order. But the design of that particular prototype board is not quite to my liking. I could go and design my own but it takes a lot of time.

This is very interesting for people who are highly creative and have knowledge in electronics. The price is great and winning means great opportunity as well.
