No. It is delivered with a cardboard box that can be used to contain the smoke.

As long as you don't plug it into 240 volts it will be fine.  :-DD

Shame it won't arrive at the winners door in time for New Year Eve, so they miss out of their own personal fireworks display.

Just a friendly heads up/FYI to  Australian, NZ, UK and other 230/240 volters.

Move along folks, nothing to see here...

Unless you have a mains utility fault - it can happen at any time, especially with the bad weather in the US knocking down utility poles, etc.
But, extra sales is always great if you're a true capitalist- so do stock up plentifully on surge arrestors and UPS'es (not included in price?)

Last I heard some states have legalizing pot smoking. Will the next step be trannie smoking?

LOL, DJ never reported what trannie buzz he got  ??? from inhaling the magic smoke that emineminated from what appeared to be molasses coated primary windings

And yes, it wouldn't be that difficult for US and Canada people to get their 120v gear nuked with 240 volts,

either via a street transformer mishap,

or a DIY snafu with the wiring at the switchboard

120-0-120 works well if it stays that way   :scared:

Unless you have a mains utility fault
This station is a UL certified device. It is safe for all reasonable operating conditions, including surges and transients. If a person gets injured by a certified device and sues, then UL will be the ones who have to answer. It is NOT certified to be plugged into 240V.
Feel free to point out real safety issues with Weller soldering irons (aside from Dave's incident).

But will UL pick up the 'sue' tab or Weller ?

i.e. the injured person may win the case but get no money,
and or get looped around for years in courts and legal BS,
finally 'forced' to settle for some 'go away' cash,

or else wait another decade or two...  :horse: for a bit more, or less 'go away' pocket money
with another unfused solder station replacement thrown in to sweeten the deal  :palm:

Who needs a ball breaking farce like this, when all the manufacturer needs to do is SIMPLY install a CHEAP FUSE in the device with or without a UL sticker

Assuming it really does meet genuine UL guidelines in the first place...back in the courtroom again..  |O

UL. Be assured that they've had many decades to perfect not getting sued in the first place.  ;)

Assuming it really does meet genuine UL guidelines in the first place
By all means, go challenge them and let us know how it goes. Until then, this is all just asinine RAMBLING.

...and if they do get called out on a dud Listing, only the best Armani suits will do, huh?  >:D

I would not waste my time,  :horse:
easier and less drama buying a fused competitors product or knockoff in the first place 8)

or DIY 'UL' an existing unfused Weller by fitting a 50 cent glass fuse,
or get really exotic and  fit a ceramic FF or T type fuse (NOS genuine UL jobbie please :D ) for under $10
