Since this is pertinent to cooking and although some people may be fine with this, I'll just leave here that a new ingredient has been approved in the EU: cricket flour for use in biscuits, pasta, dressings, etc...

Anyway, for fast food there are allowed amounts of things like rat droppings, hairs and insect parts that they have to follow. I wonder if this means if it is not there they have to add it in....

I'm not sure there is any allowable limits on rat droppings in food safety standards. I don't know about overseas but there are strict rules when it comes to pest-proofing premises where food is stored and prepared. On top of that, food needs to be stored in such a way that pests cannot access it.
