Ikea refunded me a whopping $7.99 for their recalled VÄRDEFULL garlic press  :P

Next one I'm trying is the Trudeau. It's better but it's a fail for other reasons.  How hard is it to design one of these.

The Trudeau shows the secret is a tapered bore, so the paste does not leak and ooze past the piston.
But the fail is short stubby handles that take major effort to squeeze, and the handles are hollow with silicone grips that keep sliding off.  UGH.
The metal is some cheapola chrome plated cast zinc or something. Apparently the hinge or handles break too.

I have one with a wiper blade and ejector lever that my aunt gave me a few years back, it's a beast, I think it's a "Garject".

Put cloves in, squeeze, open, and press the button to eject the skins.  Solidy constructed.

As for cleaning, a quick rinse and run the scrubbing brush across the grating, 5 seconds.

This one ?

Yeah that's what it looks like, if it is exactly that brand I don't know.

IKEA really sucks these days, a lot of trash there now. I still go for the farmed salmon products because they're good enough and convenient.
Hoarder of 8-bit Commodore relics and 1960s Tektronix 500-series stuff. Unconventional interior decorator.
