Kickstarter Power Roaster
« on: March 24, 2018, 01:42:18 am »

These guys seem to have no idea, basically it's a popcorn popper but they insist that they created a 1,360 watt motor (why a motor, surely you would create a fan and/or heating element and the heater would use the majority of the power for the device) with a partner and added a thermal fuse to make sure the coffee doesn't go on fire if left unattended, I asked them about electrical certification for the top backer locations (United States, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada & Indonesia) and they reckon that they are getting it, all seems very fishy.

Thanks for taking a look.

Forced air or "fluid bed" roasting is a real thing, it is exactly like a popcorn popper. I don't see what your talking about, they say the whole thing is 1.3KW, this includes the motor and heater.

However...I'd be wary of wood in a cooking appliance. Not sure of the quality either, it could be a scam in that it's just a crappy hair blower style thing inside. They say they'll actually sell spare parts. Are they being nice...or just engineering to fail?

"It's expensive because it has a one year warrenty" Yeah...that's what they all say...then it breaks after exactly a year. >:D

"Beautifully handcrafted"

Then why is there a huge separation between the base and top plate, plus a bunch of scuffs? :palm:
