I think the Q is to high for it to be of any practical use, however half a forest full of these things of different sizes probably
could power one tree-huger's tiny house..

What's wrong with that statement? I don't know whether their numbers are correct, but I can't see a flaw in the logic?!
(They also claim that the unit cost is significantly lower than for a conventional wind turbine, so they could afford to place more units.)

Wake turbulence. Turbines disturb the wind (an unavoidable result of extracting energy from it) which imposes a hard limit as to their packing density.
