That is a terrific price point for an educational robot!

I really like the simplicity of the robot. Is it just me or do the buttons seem to be at the same level as the Lego block connectors?  That could cause some problems if people try and stack the robots like in the video.

If only he had used an ATmega328 instead of MC9S08PA8, and had called it Arduino compatible... He could easily triple the amount of money at the end of the campaign.

Seems pretty obvious to me. The robot drives over them.

That way, they get to exploit the fact that they already have line-following photosensors.

I didn't mean electrically, I meant that the bar codes seem way to simple to contain a program.

The barcode doesn't contain the program; it merely identifies which pre-programmed function/application to run. The barcode may only represent 8 bits of data - but that is enough to select any of up to 256 preprogrammed applications.

That thing looks incredibly well built! Awesome little toy/educational device. Not to mention the (what looks like) extremely well programmed GUI (and Mac/Windows/Linux compatible too!)

The project is funded already, I'd love to see these popping up in schools.
