What is your firmware now: 1.7.3 or 1.8-alpha1? We changed something around OVP but if you think that something is wrong with DP run a simple list or func generator as square wave and check in YT view if falling edge is too large.

FW is 1.7.3
I managed to start the FG, but with very low voltage. Ampl=1Vpp, Offs=1,5V, f=50Hz. If i go higher with the Offs, i get an error and can't measure anything...
And it appears to be a problem with the down-programmer, as you can see on the scope print screen. CH1 is the faulty DCP and CH2 is a good one for the reference (with same parameters in FG as faulty DCP)

Yes, if the DP is not turned off it is damaged. Please check R29 and Q5.

Right, power resistor in 2512 package is really for optimists. In next revision it will be replaced with TO-220 THT!

Still, check if Q5 is not shorted.

Q5 is fine, it works now as it should.
Measured Q5 and R29 and both were fine, had to take a closer look to see that cracked solder...

Hi,

I noticed mention of a 1.8 firmware - this sounds exciting =). Any idea of what will be included in this?

Also - sorry if this is a really basic question, but say I had a LED driver that takes a 0-10V PWM input signal, for dimming (e.g. link).

How would I drive that from the BB3? Which module can I use for that?

Firmware 1.8 incomplete list of tasks can be found here: https://github.com/eez-open/modular-psu-firmware/milestone/11

If PWM frequency could be low you can try DCP405 module (Function generator, with voltage set to 10V), or you could use SMX46 analog outputs, or MIO168 analog or PWM outputs.

I forgot to mention that 1.8. pre-release (Alpha 2) can be download from https://github.com/eez-open/modular-psu-firmware/releases/tag/1.8.alpha2

ATTENTION: we have several BB3 enclosures (including foot, display mounting frame and Mean Well mounting frame) for sale. Price 30 EUR (+ S&H)!

As you know the enclosure is custom made and all those who bought only a set of PCBs this is an opportunity to once they assemble all the modules put them in the original enclosure 🪛

Send me PM for details (it's not listed on web store).

Is there any code example of how to connect and send SCPI commands from Python, for example using PyVisa (or maybe some other module).  Doing like this didn't work:  https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/exit/msg4192018/#msg4192018

Not asking to debug someone else's code, a simple code example of a "*IDN?" from Python would be enough.  Is there any Python code example for EEZ instruments, please?

Here is an example of using Python to talk with H24005 (and BB3) over serial port.

I didn't specify, sorry.  Looking for a LAN example.

Is there any SCPI example from Python, using a LAN connection instead of the serial COM port?

Due to chipshortage, the hardware is hard to get.  :( :(

In the background there is a lot of interesting software development going on: a complete no-code/low-code environment you can run on your desktop OR on embedded devices (e.g. BB3).

For future visitors, there was a firmware release (1.7.5) right after 1.7.4 to fix an issue:
