I mis-read the subject as pikeylock  :palm:

Believe me there is no lock on earth that a thieving pikey bastard can't get around.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a UK "Pikey" is a nomadic version of an Ozzy "Bogan")   :)

What a joke, $24 for a small project box and a switch!

I guess the price is that expensive because it is an audiophile-grade network blocker - i think it will even enhance the aural quality of your favorite internet music stream services...  :palm:

For the audiophile version, just add an extra 0 to the price, that'll be $240.

I watched the whole video.  I feel dirty now - like I need to take a shower.

Poor guys took all that time to start a project, only to get to $500.  I almost feel bad for them.

I would have loved to have commented on their page like "But, doesn't this turn off the internet for everyone around the world?!?!"

They didn't get $500. They got $0! On Kickstarter, if you don't meet your target goal you don't get any of the money!
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic; e.g., Cheez Whiz, Hot Dogs and RF.

Wait 'til they offer the WLAN version :-) And that toy won't pass any CAT6 verification.

It would pass verification by my cat. He likes toys like that. But unfortunately it would be cat-5 verification only nowadays.
(Next year, cat-6 verification would be doable - if he would still be interested in it...)

I can get CAT 11 if i plug my cat in to the switch... unfortunately he doesn't have enough twisted pairs any more as he lost a leg so it would have to be a serial 3 wire TX/RX/GND connection
