Title: Kick Starter to setup in Australia
Post by: snoopy on October 08, 2013, 06:17:33 am
Just read in Australian Personal Computing mag that Kick Starter will establish itself in Australia. This means that it will be easier to setup Australian projects in Aussie Dollars. This is good news for aussie inventors and entrepreneurs who usually have a snow flakes chance in hell of ever getting funding for any idea in Australia which is generally a risk averse nation of property hoarding idiots.

For example has anyone here been successful in getting an ausindustry government grant ? One look at their website and you can see that is just a token effort just to give a whole lot of public servants a job whilst making the stupid government look like it is doing something :( I believe you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting a government grant for any idea no matter what potential it has :(

I mean what brain-dead government would slap a tax on start-ups ?? The Australian labor government would of course and the newly elected liberal government is umming and arring about reversing it according to Abbot in BRW :( It should be a no-brainer of course !! Jeez we have some wally brains running this country :(

Also what about Venture Capital in Australia ? Almost non existent from what I can see :(

Hopefully mobs like KickStarter and Pozible will change all of that.

Anyway enough of my ranting. What do other folks think ?
