Smoothieboard!

I'm excited because the smoothie has enough processing power to handle features like circle detection while doing delta calculations. The ethernet will be nice (once it works), but I'm totally okay printing over USB. Oh, also: five axis!

Stepper drivers only capable of 35V 2A so limits the torque/speed you can get out of your motors.
Much prefer that stepper drivers are separate as it makes it easier to replace when you smoke one.

Other than that, a neat idea. If I could get one with out the Allegro drivers installed, I'd find a use for one.

I heard they have (or are planning) a no-driver model. I agree, the integrated drivers limit its use, but I certainly don't care to put $200 in stepper drivers into my next hobbyist grade printer. (That being said, I would certainly want $$$ drivers were I building an SLS printer or similar.)

Smoothieboard looks like a nice project when I was looking into CNC/3D printing. The project seemed slightly dead though, the last commit to github was like 9 months ago. Doesn't sound too good. Also I couldn't find much information on how "complete" the project is. Meaning can you do anything with it at this point.

Seems like a really nice board, we could certainly use the extra power for more advanced features like path planning.
