Who exactly is this sort of thing for? Are you planning on 3D printing your whole production run?

Also: Hobby-servos = shit.

If you want the thing to have real utility, and not just be a funny tchotchke people buy and play with for a weekend, and then never touch again, you'd need real servos (note - not the thing RC modelers call "servos", and not have it made of plastic.

The design is for anyone wanting a solid starting point for a robot appendage ... it is modular and can be easily modified ... it can be made as a educational kit or to experiment with machine learning ... production printing is not really the goal but might be OK for a small prototype run.   Any servos can be selected based on end use.  As metal printing tech gets more accessible this design will still work. ...  that's why we want to make it open source sometime next year ... but only after we are 100% sure all the parts fit smooth and work perfectly.

How long is it going to take if all 200 of the "Complete Preview Kit"'s go?

Sounds like an awful lot of pain 3D printing all of those @ your 20hrs each.  Even with a few printers going...

We have an outsource connection for the 200 3D printed sets.  We also got the minimum print time down to ~3hrs per set using 3 to 4  printers.  Right now we have been testing improved herring bone gears for smoother consistent motion.  They take longer to print but I think we will still be inside 3 hrs pet unit.  Also our outsourcing folks have faster production printers.
