transparent PVDF-piezo film

This kickstarter
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/richardhaberkern/speakers-thinner-than-paper-pvdf-piezo-film-techno?ref=category
looks interesting for the material they provide.

This PVDF-piezo film can do quite amazing things as actor and sensor (although there are no detailed specs in the one the kickstarter is selling and it only shows the application as a loudspeaker).

Here are some application ideas:

Other PVDF film I could find was much more expensive
e.g.  http://acoustics.co.uk/price-lists/piezo-materials/piezo-materials-usd/
even from the chinese suppliers.

Electrostatic speakers making a comeback.......... Now all you need is a pair of EL84's to drive them direct at 350VDC and you do not need an output transformer.

Just how big do you have to make it to get it to a 16Hz rolloff for good bass.

At 16 Hz most speakers are displacement limited AFAIK. This is going to be more so, unless you fold it like a 1000 times.
