Is it really torture? It's experimentation. The insect doesn't feel pain from the impulses (do insects even feel pain...?)

I am no fan of Cockroaches.....I had lots of dealings with the little blighters around the world and they can be pretty gross. I would not, however, push pins into them and cut off their antennae  >:(

I respect all life, including that which I do not particularly like. This 'project' encourages non professional experimentation on a living creature that does have a brain after all. I am no supporter of harming sentient life for the purposes of experimentation or curiosity. Saying that, I am not an animal activist and I do not support direct action.

It should be noted that children can be VERY cruel as they have yet to understand the implications of their actions.

This project strikes me as WRONG on all levels and I would not be surprised if it gets pulled. If the 'animal rights brigade' get hold of the backers details there could be some seriously nasty hate mail flying around !

About remote controlled animals, Steve Carell (the actor) on one interview he told they had remote controlled birds when they were doing some of the animal shots in movie Evan Almighty. Some stunt guy could control where the bird flew and bird had wires coming from it's head. Instead of CGI they decided to torture innocent birds.

I would think birds feel much more than insects.
