Symbolic circuit analysis. Upcoming Kickstarter
« on: February 21, 2022, 07:31:25 am »
Hello,

I want to present you my upcoming kickstarter project:

Sylina, a symbolic circuit analysis software.

Its main target is to derive formulas for transfer functions of analog circuits.
Besides Bode-, Nyquist- and Pole-Zero plots and a circuit editor.

More details on www.sylina.de/sylina-en.html
or direct to the examples on www.sylina.de/tutorial-en.html#examples.

On youtube are some
vidos www.youtube.com/channel/UCfWJTilvVIoghniovPvxKJw

Next I prepare a downloadable demo
and after that the kickstarter campaign.

Any comments are welcome.

It look pretty good. I guess, it's still a prototype?

What is the level you want to obtain with the kickstarter ?

Kindly,

keep going. haven't look closely but i wish something that derives transfer function from actual/empiric device's/circuit's behavior, not from theoretical formula, because that we already have in textbook.

Sorry for the late answer.

Yes it is still a prototype.
The goal of the kickstarter campaign is to build an easy to use, robust software.

Yes, unfortunately the reality is much more complex. :)

I make a small signal analysis and that is naturally only valid in a small range.

Looks awesome from the web I'll have to make some time to check out the software soon, and I hope to see it on kickstarter soon. What is your long term licensing plans. I'm thinking this would be perfect for universities with courses in analog design.

I don't believe I'm saying this as I typically want to lynch software (cough cough kicad) which expects users to have to code to make it do certain basic operations. But I really hope you end up with a nice API interface to the software as well. Assuming the licensing wasn't too bad It'd be nice to setup web interfaces to static circuits to let students see them there. Or setup some sort of question interface where students could be asked to enter in a circuit and then have the software spit out their formula to compare to the expected one. If it can effectively handle larger filters I know a grad course where the standard project would be great to have this as a tool to validate designs.

Is it going to have any sort of statistical analysis to show the variation in output. Especially coupled with a sensitivity analysis would be awesome.

Well, it is planned as a commercial product.
The fee will not be very much. Perhaps the price of a book.
But that's in the future.

... But I really hope you end up with a nice API interface to the software as well.

In the first version, I will concentrate on the core functionality.
There will be a text export to a Computer Algebra System.

In later releases probably an API to Python.

Okay, I'll definitely have a close look at your licensing when it comes out as I'd love to setup an example page with some circuits for students. Thanks to flask it should be pretty easy to integrate it into a webpage.

I like it. It's pretty interesting and the ability to look at the dominant terms makes it quite useful.
