The video doesn't knock my pants off, but the software and hardware look quite nice, I quite fancy one of these.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

There's a programmable O/S effects pedal "OpenStomp" from a while ago here: http://howleraudio.com/frontpage/

It even has a graphical interface, so you don't need to know how to program to be able to create your own custom designs.

Yeah I stumbled across that one before I found the Owl one.   The OpenStomp is a good start but I think it lacks the essentials of a practical fx. processor;  it's pretty pricey as one unit will set you back $249  http://www.shop.openstomp.com/main.sc

I think this is really neat. In the other thread people seem to be complaining about the price...I guess they have never bought audio gear before...my brother just spent 800 bucks on four eurorack synthesizer modules, most guitar pedals hover around the 200 dollar mark anyway. If it got popular and people started creating lots of effects for it, it would certainly be worth it even without the motion sensors ect. you get on the STM32F4 Discovery Board just because its easy to interface with, especially if you don't know anything about electronics/computers.

Of course, the main advantage this should give is price. I mean, guitar pedals are ridiculously expensive for what they are, mostly. Except for the rugged pots and switches, it's only a $3 to $10 aluminium box with either 40 year old silicon in it or some DSP. Although those programable digital pedals imply you have to pay developers (and probably specialised ones) and in my opinion they give you more pedal for your money.
