Tuna Knobs: Stick-on hard interface knobs for your tablet
« on: February 14, 2015, 11:05:19 pm »
I didn't see this on the forum yet.

It was successfully funded in August 2014 and they have delivered already.  They have designed these stick on knobs that you can use on a tablet, and they are marketing them mostly for DJ and club use. Seems simple in concept, they would only have to transfer the capacitance of your body to a small contact point on the bottom of the knob so it can be spun around and affect the tablet.

I think these could also be used to remote control an instrument interface with hard knobs.

I don't believe it needs the capacitance of your body. You can wear gloves and these should still work perfectly fine. there suction cup on the bottom of the nob to keep it on the screen with some conductive material on the underneath of the side for the indicator of the knob. Here are a few articles about how capacitive touch systems work.
