This might be one of those objects, where pretending to be green is worse than what we do now.
Here is the famous study of grocery bags:
https://www2.mst.dk/Udgiv/publications/2018/02/978-87-93614-73-4.pdf

Organic cotton bags should be used 20000 times to have the same environmental impact as single use bags. It is crazy, that over 50 years, if daily used. This might fall into the same category. The real problem is that the average person has no idea about the impact. Not even a close estimation is possible without investigating deeply, and companies pray on people, upselling them with "green" products.

Since it's not an IoT device, doesn't need the Cloud to work I don't think that there are enough buzzwords flying about to make me want to support it.
Believe it or not, pointy haired people do exist!

Then don't buy organic cotton bags, buy recycled PET or similar which will pay back much faster.
Anyway that study is stretching things as plastic bags take very little water to produce, and cotton takes a lot of water, resulting in an inflated number. Water use may or may not be an issue depending on where we are talking about. Rice takes 2,500L to produce 1kg, should people stop eating rice? No.

Don't forget, Sears invented re-usable paper catalogs long before Proctor and Gamble put it in single-use rolls:

Once the tissue/handkerchief has been blown away,  it would make a handy holster for a UT210E
