Considering sellers in China seem to be able to post stuff out worldwide fpr peanuts,  maybe the ideal solution is to get someone there to collect from PCBcart and ship. Obviously the tricky part is finding a reliable contact to do it.

That would be the best way to send them. They can print customs forms directly on the envelope, unlike Dave's problems with them and Ozzie post offices. Plus, no problems adding a China Export sticker on to each ruler going to Germany.

Taobao agents sometimes can offer drop shipping services, get the stuff shipped to their warehouse probably in Shenzhen, they can pack and send for a fee.  I currently use bhiner.com for my Taobao'ing needs, not the cheapest but their English at their customer service email is very good (for China), and I believe they can do drop shipping.

I think next time Dave should choose a person per country and ship them the rulers, envelopes and the cards along with the country recipients, and then farm it out to a distributed network. The remote packer pays the postage for the area and posts them, and this can be regarded as a contribution to the forum to keep Sagan with a roof over his head.

That is not as easy as it sounds. There are 58 counties!
Even if I did the major countries I'd have to liaise with (and trust) a few dozen people to send these things out.

I guess you only need one person to screw up and it really would not look good.

So far, yes, but the problem are not sorted yet, and won't be for mayb a month until I get a count of who didn't receiver what. Then I might have to do another run of rulers just to resupply the lost units.

Thanks.
It seems Germany, UK, and Denmark have received them, all with Swedish stamps.
Still no US or Canada though.

And I meant to check for it this weekend too. I'll check the mailbox tomorrow before going to work. But they definitely weren't here on Friday.

Hi,

I live in the UK.

I received my rulers today. Thanks, Dave.  :)

Well packaged, with a good strong envelope. The glue attaching the rulers to the card was just strong enough to keep them in place  in transit, but easy to remove and leaves no marks.

It has a Swedish post mark similar to the one in the photo on the blog.

Cheers.

Seems like the cardboard, Tyvek envelope, and glue combo is a complete winner for sending PCBs by letter mail.
